According to 2019 Ridefest Chair Lanee Grey,
For 38 years, Equest has enhanced the lives of children and adults with diverse needs using horses to bring hope and healing through equine assisted therapies. The life changing work that happens at Equest on a daily basis could not be possible without their amazing herd of therapy horses.
As a volunteer, I have been there to witness the power and positive changes that these horses have on the clients. It is a truly moving experience that I hope everyone gets the chance to see.
Clients and volunteers know firsthand the need to keep the therapy horses at their best, so they created an annual fundraiser called Ridefest to benefit the amazing Equest therapy horses. This year’s theme is “Calling all Super Heroes!” and the goal is to have volunteers and clients work as a team to share their experience at Equest with others, in order to help raise awareness and funds for the wonderful therapy horses that make it all happen. This year’s goal is to raise $75,000!
On Saturday, October 19, everyone will gather together at Equest at Texas Horse Park to celebrate their hard work with a day filled with carnival games and prizes, a petting zoo, crafts, and so much more!
