Monday’s Labor Day festivities will celebrate the official end of the 2019 summer hiatus. As part of the celebration, retailers will be happily open with all types of sales. What a great time to splurge and get that outfit or at least a couple of accessories to prepare for the upcoming fundraising season!
For outdoorsy types, it’s a perfect time to take a last splash at area swimming holes or head to the Dallas Arboretum, Klyde Warren and/or Six Flags.
On the other hand, there are other places that will have closed doors for the national holiday. North Texas city and county offices, as well as federal offices like postal services, will be taking the day off. However, emergency services will still be on duty.
While brick and mortar banks will be closed, the ATMs will still be churning out dough.
And speaking of overdrive, MADD and area troopers will be on high alert for those who think drinking-and-driving is a party game. Remember — “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over.”
