While many are taking off for summer getaways, The Senior Source has already locked down plans for the 2019 Spirit of Generations Luncheon. They’ve managed to have Caren Kline chair the annual fundraiser that will take place at the Hilton Anatole on Wednesday, November 20.As for who will be the event’s honorees, Mike and Marla Boone will receive the Spirit of Generations Award.
According to Caren, “We are so pleased to be honoring Marla and Mike Boone with this year’s Spirit of Generations Award. In addition to Mike’s achievements at Haynes and Boone, the law firm he co-founded, Marla and Mike have positively impacted the Dallas community through their dedication to numerous causes —most notable in the fields of public education, human services and historical preservation. The Boones are most deserving.”
Speaking of which, Marla is currently president of the Park Cities Historical Society.
Caren also reported that the Molly H. Bogen Service Award will be presented to Texas Instruments Alumni Association Co-Founder Max Post, who has “been integral to TI’s establishing a path by which retirees can stay connected to one another and their community. Max has continued to serve older adults through his work with TI, The Senior Source and beyond.”
Funds from the luncheon are “critical to The Senior Source’s operation of programs and services which are provided to more than 27,000 older adults and their family caregivers annually through community engagement, support, independence, advocacy, financial security and protection.”
