Despite the slight chill in the air, Form and Function patrons had no problem warming up at Forty Five Ten to celebrate the 54th annual Dallas Museum of Art fundraiser on Wednesday, April 3. With everyone from city leaders (Mayor Mike Rawlings), DMA leaders (Agustin Arteaga, Amanda Shufeldt, Catherine Rose and Shonn Brown) to retailing types (Kristen Cole, Allen Questrom and Rajan Patel), it only hinted at the who’s who that would be attending the black-tie gala. Here’s a report from the field:
On Wednesday, April 3, 2019, sponsors and donors joined in Form and Function, as they celebrated the 54th annual Art Ball Patron Party, sponsored by Headington Companies. And, what better place to gather than at the iconic Forty Five Ten, where fashion meets art? On the second floor, guests enjoyed passed hors d’oeuvres by The Joule while sipping on bubbles and cocktails, and mixing and mingling through to-die-for fashions. DJ Blake Ward livened the party as patrons enjoyed a sneak peek of the exciting live auction packages that will be offered at the upcoming Art Ball.
Guests shopped the beautiful spring clothing and accessories, including Capera Ryan who was admiring the exquisite jewelry, and Dallas Mayor Mike Rawlings was seen catching up with Rajan Patel and Jessica Nowitzki. Later in the evening, DMA Eugene McDermott Director Agustín Arteaga and Forty Five Ten President Kristen Cole gathered the crowd for brief remarks. Art Ball 2019 Co-chair Amanda Shufeldt also spoke to the crowd and reiterated her thanks to all in attendance. She recognized and named Art Ball 2019 sponsors, who generously support the DMA and Art Ball each year.
“We are so honored to be a part of an organization that year after year strives to remain one of the premiere museums in the nation. The constant and generous support from patrons and sponsors is overwhelmingly inspiring,” said Amanda. “I know I speak on behalf of both Lindsey Collins and myself when I say that we are so excited for the big event in a few weeks. Todd Events has planned an evening that you won’t soon forget. We look forward to continuing the legacy of the Dallas Museum of Art as a catalyst for community creativity that engages people of all ages and backgrounds with a diverse spectrum of programming.”
Throughout the evening, the 75+ guests including DMA Board President Catherine Marcus Rose, Shonn and Clarence Brown, Kelli and Allen Questrom, Cynthia Calabrese, Charles Shufeldt, Geoff Green and Sheryl Adkins-Green, Lee Ann Laughlin, Helen and Brendan McGuire, Hollee Hirzel, Jamie Lavin and Sarah and Mark Hardin buzzed with excitement and anticipation for the 54th annual gala in just a few weeks.
Art Ball 2019: Form & Function: A Celebration of Craftsmanship Throughout the Collection will be held Saturday, April 27, at the Dallas Museum of Art. The evening will kick off with light bites and craft cocktails at 6:30 p.m., a seated dinner at 8 p.m. with entertainment provided by Eclipse, live auction, and a festive after party. Proceeds from the event directly support the DMA’s commitment to presenting diverse exhibitions, providing innovative educational and public programs, and caring for a collection of more than 24,000 objects – all while offering free general admission to more than 800,000 visitors annually.
