While longtime Mad Hatter’s Tea mainstay Jocelyn White was in the dressing room and Tootsies’ new owners Donna and Norman Lewis were delayed, McKinney mavens — Sharla Bush, Terry Irby and Linda Spina— had their ducks in a row Wednesday night for the announcement of the 2019 Mad Hatter’s Tea plans.
With flutes flowing and folks like Venise Stewart, Anne Davidson with Mark Potter and McKinney Garden Club’s Donna Darling, Dallas Arboretum Women’s Council President Linda Spina, fresh off a highly successful The Writer’s Garden, along with 2019 Mad Hatter Co-Chairs Sharla and Terry revealed that the upcoming fundraiser’s date would be Thursday, April 11, with champagne bubbling in the Ginsburg Plaza and the Tootsies’ fashion show produced by Jan Strimple.
The Dallas Arboretum’s Women’s Council fundraiser theme was a showstopper, literally — The Golden Age of Hollywood — with the graphic created by Sherry Daerr.
As for the honorary chair, it will be another Bush type — Kristina Bush Whitcomb!
Alas, tickets aren’t available quite yet, as the website is still a production-in-the-works, but don’t you know that sponsorships are more than welcome by contacting Marcy Jones at 972.897.1802.
BTW, Donna and Norman Lewis aren’t newcomers to the Tootsies universe. For 21 years, Norman had been COO/President, and purchased the Tootsies closets from the family of the late Tootsies’ founder Mickey Rosmarin.
