JUST IN: Housing Crisis Center Executive Director Sherri Ansley To Succeed Rainbow Days Founder/CEO Cathey Brown

Jul 10, 2018 1:30 PM by Jeanne Prejean

Rainbow Days Founder/CEO Cathey Brown announced at the Attorneys Serving the Community Luncheon in June that her replacement would be named very soon. In finding a replace for Cathey, who created Rainbow Days 36 years ago, the organization’s board of directors called on the consulting firm Raffa to assist its search committee (Rainbow Days President Katie Anand, Search Committee Chair Dale Hurd and members Heather Appel, David Elliot, Mary Jo McKellar, Jerry Moe and Kurt Opella) “to conduct a nationwide search for its next CEO.”

The pick was … drum roll… Sherri Ansley, who is finishing up her tenure as Housing Crisis Center Executive Director. Before joining HCC, Sherri “was director and a founding board member of Wisdom’s Hope, serving low-income and homeless families with special-needs children,” as well as “part of the senior management team of the Interfaith Housing Coalition.”

Sherri’s first day in the office will be Monday, August 6.

As for Cathey, she’s planning “a short sabbatical” and will move into “the role of Director of Rainbow Days’ Trans4m Center.
