The Equest Women’s Auxiliary Luncheon check presentation at Carolina Hererra turned out to be more than guests expected on Wednesday, November 19. No, the Equest mini-ambassadors Star and Tex were not present. But there was another surprise “a-hoof”… or, rather afoot.
Co-Chairs Katherine Coker and Angie Kadesky were like two peas in a pod. They looked adorable and thanked everyone associated with the Equest fundraiser. It was enough that they announced the check of $265,000 as being turned over to Equest, but then Equest CEO Patrick Bricker told the group that they hoped to get a few of the Equest horses to Texas Horse Park within a few weeks. He also said that thanks to meeting with neighboring communities, the proposed tollway that would have spelled a bronco of a problem for the Equest operation in Wylie had failed.
Then Patrick revealed that Equest fav Lili Kellogg had just been named Equest’s executive director for Texas Horse Park. Equest vets gasped in delight. Lili starts January 15.
