It’s Halloween and the skies are clearing for a great evening with spooks and spookettes scampering around the neighborhood.
You know the rules:
- If you’re open for candy distribution, leave the porch light on.
- When driving, be cautious. Little goblins think they’re invincible on this night.
- Don’t let your trick-or-treater walk alone. Either have him/her join a group or have a responsible adult accompany him/her.
- Make sure that the group or adult has a flashlight
- Put a reflective tape on his/her costume and collection bag.
- Check the “booty” before letting your child eat it.
- Don’t let your child overload on the sugar tonight. That is, unless you want to pull an all-nighter with a hyped-up kiddo.
- Keep the luminarias and candle-lit pumpkins a distance from the walkways and doors. Costumes do tend to catch on fire.
- Remind your child not to enter a stranger’s home or accept “homemade” candy.
- Make sure you take a photo of you in-home trick-or-treater. Years from now, you’ll have a real conversation starter with his/her dates.
