After going into overload eating through the 4th of July celebrations, it’s time to take a break and dust off those healthy diets. After all, the 2013 DFW Restaurant Week is just around the corner.
Benefiting the North Texas Food Bank and Lena Pope Home, this year’s collection of 125+ participating restaurants will be revealed for reservations on Monday, July 15.
The plan is for dinners ranging from $35 or $45 and lunches for $25 (plus tax and gratuity), with 20% going to NTFB and LPH. The dinners include three-course prix fixe dinners with wine pairings available for some extra cha-ching.
The schedule calls for Preview Week to be August 9-11, Main Week August 12-18 and Extensions August 19-25 and August 26-September 1.
Vets will tell you that if you spend $25 at presenting sponsor Central Market and request a certificate, you get an “extra dinner course” coupon.
Last year’s eat-away summer fundraiser brought in $760,000+ for the two charities.
“DFW Restaurant Week is one of our most popular and important fundraisers,” said NTFB President/CEO Jan Pruitt. “It’s an ideal way to enjoy a fabulous meal at a deal, while also putting food on tables for children, families and seniors in need. The donation from one dinner purchased during the campaign will provide up to 27 meals for hungry North Texans.”
Remember that generous gratuities are appreciated for good service, despite the bargain meals.
