When you have 3,000 folks in for dinner and a program, you need a experienced ramrod to keep things moving smoothly. Sure, it may cost some money, but it takes a lot of weight off the organizers’ shoulders. They’re too busy working behind the scenes to make sure everything is just right.
That’s why the Black Tie Dinner organizers were so smart to announce they’ve tapped stand-up comedienne/actress Caroline Rhea to be the emcee for the November 12 dinner. This year’s 30th anniversary “Shine” dinner will once again be at the Sheraton Dallas Hotel in its mega-ballroom.
“We are so excited to add a talent like Caroline Rhea to our lineup,” said dinner co-chair Nan Arnold. “Best known for her quick wit and infectious laugh, Caroline brings a fresh, smart and spontaneous approach to comedy and sends a message as well. Her innate curiosity and formidable talents give her the natural abilities we were looking for in a master of ceremonies.”
BTW, Online Table Captain table sales are underway.
PS — Please don’t confuse Black Tie Dinner with the Big Black Tie Ball or the Yellow and Black Tie Gala. They all seem to take place within hours of each other. Black Tie Dinner raises funds for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender supportive organization serving North Texas. It also happens to be the biggest one of its kind. That’s why it raises such humongous amounts of money.
