Remember Christmas? It was way back in December, but the gifts just keep coming. The latest goody to arrived at deBoulle Tuesday when the the Chi Omegas distributed $269,721.41 to eight area groups. With Co-chairs Jennifer Stone, Amy Timmerman and Kendra Allen at the helm, those hardworking gals put together a stellar 33rd Chi Omega Christmas Market resulting in the whopping sum.
Especially pleased with the results were the following beneficiaries:
- American Red Cross-Dallas Chapter
- Baylor Health Care System Foundation
- Cystic Fibrosis Foundation
- Foundation for the Education of Young Women
- Heart House Dallas
- The Make-A-Wish Foundation of North Texas
- Pastoral Counseling and Education Center and
- Chi Omega Christmas Market Scholarships.
“The Chi Omega Christmas Market is such a wonderful vehicle to support our local charities and organizations,” said Jenny Kaiser, 2011 Beneficiary Chair. “The Market has been so successful in improving the quality of life in our community, and we are so pleased to continue that success tonight.”
If you just landed at DFW International and haven’t a clue about the Christmas Market, sit back and learn. More than 10,500 shoppers were a part of the 2010 market that included “a unique holiday shopping experience showcasing gifts for every age including jewelry, home décor, women’s fashion, toys, holiday décor, food and drinks, items for entertaining, linens and original art.”
Since it started 33 years ago, the market has provided $5.7 million through grants to local charities and collegiate scholarships.
The 2011 market Co-chairs Amy Timmerman and Sarah Staats are already plotting with a theme “Mod and Merry.”
