Highland Park Village almost seemed to be North Texas’ version of Venice on Wednesday, April 30. Instead of gondolas paddling through the parking areas, the North Texas top-tier luxury vehicles were splashing through a heavy-duty drenching of rain in the morning.
But even the floodwaters weren’t going to dampen the spirits of the 2025 Crystal Charity Ball New Members Luncheon at Park House hosted by Material Good, which will join the HPV family of luxury merchants this fall. As one vet declared, “This is the biggest turnout ever for the new members event.”
Perhaps it was because Material Good’s Manager Ashley Griggs and her team, including Courtney Hendler, Ryder Mesh, Teresa Panico and Riley Young, had added a special sparkle to the event with such touches as place cards featuring the guest’s name plus their birthstone, along with a $500 gift card. Adding to the fashionable occasion was Dallas fashion artist Krystyn Potter doing sketches of the guests.

Adding even more panache to the event were 2025 Crystal Charity Ball Chair Mary Martha Pickens wearing Material Good’s diamond earrings that would be part of the CCB 2025 CCB silent auction, and Luncheon Chair Janie Condon in Material Good’s hoop earrings of 30 multi-draped diamonds set in 18k white gold valued at $7,400.

Still, the topic of the newly arrived guests was their overcoming the rain. CCB vet Louise Griffeth reported how she had made her way high and dry from parking in front of Oscar de la Renta via the covered awnings. While the ever-fashionable guests sloshed in designer stilettos, Isabell Novakov Higginbotham‘s sneakers looked both dry and very comfortable.
But despite all the pre-arrival tales and the display of jewelry, the ladies of the hour were the four new members: Sally Dutter, Lora Farris, Catherine Jaynes and Katie Oster.
