As the spring of 2025 fundraising starts transitioning into the annual summer hiatus, some good news about the first half of 2025 was heard at Lydia and Dan Novakov‘s home last night.
As the rooms filled with all types of The Stewpot friends like Sarah Losinger and Debbie and David Johnson, across the way from Monica and Jay Rosser while Ray Francis was making his way to join friends, the more than 60 Stewpot supporters were summoned to hear results of the 2025 Soup’s On! Luncheon And Art Sale and plans for 2026 event.
In closing the books on 2025, Soup’s On! Co-Chairs Buddy Jordan and Isabell Novakov Higginbotham and Trey Higginbotham revealed the net of the 17th Soup’s On! Luncheon And Art Sale featuring Nicholas “Nick” Kristof was a whopping $598,000 for The Stewpot.

That amount means that the 17 years of The Stewpot Alliance‘s Soup’s On! wrangled by dedicated Chief Chef Brian Luscher has provided more than $4.5M for The Stewpot.
The Stewpot Executive Director Brenda Snitzer and Stewpot Alliance President Bea Njuguna reported that taking up the torch for 2026 Soup’s On! will be past Stewpot Alliance President Cory Bowen and her husband Shane Bowen and Ashley and Danny Ellis.

The 2026 team has already locked down Monday, February 2, at Dallas’ Thompson Hotel for the event.
Stay tuned for who will be the keynote speaker and the honorary co-chairs.
