With Easter taking place this Sunday, North Texas is on schedule to have loads of brunches, church services and munchkins searching the grounds for eggs. Luckily, the recent surge in egg prices has abated some.
However, naughty Mother Nature is threatening to throw a wrench into outdoor plans for events like Eggstravaganza in Frisco and Vibha’s 19th Annual Kite Flying Festival in Coppell on Saturday and Easter In Turtle Creek Park and Pooch Parade on Sunday.
According to weather guessers, thunderstorms are predicted to start Saturday and continue through Sunday. Needless to say, such conditions aren’t ideal for hunting for eggs, hoisting kites or parading wet dogs.
No doubt event planners are digging up their Plan Bs. But if they include simply postponing their activities to the following weekend, there’s a hitch. While the wet stuff is supposed to take a break Monday and Tuesday, the storms are predicted to return Wednesday and continue for the next five days.
