Starting Saturday, North Texas nights are going to be in a deep freeze until next Friday. But this is going to seem like beach weather, compared to what our neighbors way up north will experience. The arctic blast is going to be so bone-chilling that Monday’s 60th Inaugural Ceremonies in Washington D.C. have been moved inside the U.S. Capitol to the Rotunda and the parade will take place in Capital One Arena.
Luckily, the City of Dallas’ and H.E.L.P.’s MLK Day Parade is taking place Saturday, before the arctic front arrives. In addition to the family of the late Officer Darron Burks serving as Grand Marshals, special guest of honor will be Martin Luther King III, who will be joined by Cynt Marshall.

With the festivities kicking off at 8:45 a.m. in front of the MLK Center (2922 Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard), the parade gets underway at 10 a.m.
And don’t forget that Monday is the official Martin Luther King Jr. Day, which is a federal holiday with banks, post offices, schools and government offices all closed.
Stay tuned for Mother Nature’s throwing a fit in the days ahead. MSC has hunkered down in an igloo for 2025.
