According to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League President Dixey Arterburn,
“Now in its 80th year, the Dallas Symphony Orchestra League’s mission is to support the Dallas Symphony Orchestra through fundraising, service and outreach education. It is our wish to have the community join us in support of these programs which offer much needed services to those youth who many not otherwise have these opportunities.

“These are a few of the educational programs: Cecil and Ida Green Youth Concert Series, Kim Noltemy Young Musicians and Young Strings.
“The Cecil and Ida Green Concert Series gives over 30,000 students the opportunity to visit the Meyerson Symphony Center to hear the DSO perform over 12 concerts. DSOL members volunteer to usher school kids to their seats.

“The Kim Noltemy Young Musicians provides orchestral music education, free instruments and lessons and mentorship opportunities at no cost to students in southern Dallas.
“Designed to increase the diversity of American Orchestras, Young Strings provide instruments, private lessons and performance opportunities to elementary through high school students in Dallas. It gives students the skills and resources essential for success in college and careers in music. Students who stay in the Young Strings Program, attend universities on a scholarship throughout the U.S.
“The DSO inspires all to enjoy the magic of music!”
