According to Kroger Dallas Division Corporate Affairs Director John Votava,
“Kroger’s Dallas Division and The Kroger Co. Zero Hunger Zero Waste Foundation have just kicked off the holidays with our annual community hunger campaign, End Hunger Here. The company is aiming to raise $500,000 in cash donations this year – which translates to 1.5 million meals, in partnership with hunger relief organizations, including North Texas Food Bank, Tarrant Area Food Bank, East Texas Food Bank, Food Bank of Central Louisiana and Food Bank of Northwest Louisiana, as well as the Dallas Mavericks Foundation.
“My wish is that the community will join us now through Saturday, December 7, to provide relief to food-insecure families through the End Hunger Here fundraiser. At checkout, shoppers will have the option to make a donation of $1, $5 or $10 that will be added to their total. All donations raised in North Texas, East Texas and Northwest Louisiana will stay in those areas.
“Creating millions of meals annually for our neighbors experiencing hunger and supporting our communities is not something we only do during the holidays, but something we do every day as part of our Zero Hunger Zero Waste social and environmental impact plan. We are grateful that our partners at the Dallas Mavericks organization are joining us this year to bring more meals to more people. We are especially grateful for our generous customers who join us every year in the fight to end hunger in our communities and to NBC5/Telemundo for their continued support in amplifying this fundraiser.
