“My wish is to help Hearts 4 Minds create our first Mural With Meaning here in Dallas. Our Murals With Meaning program provides resources and information about mental health to people where they live, work, play and go to school in a beautiful way through community murals.
“Our mission at Hearts 4 Minds is to break down the stigma associated with mental illness and help increase access to care for those who need it most. One in five adults will experience a mental illness in their lifetime and less than 40% of people with mental illness receive treatment. We know that by providing better access to care, we can help tip those scales. The QR codes on our community murals provide access to information, providers, and a 24/7 text crisis line.
“Mental illness can take many forms and access to care is the first step to get people the help they need. We’ve seen so much success with the Murals with Meaning program in other communities and I want to bring that to my local community, right here in Dallas.
