According to Dallas Service Forum (DSF) President Bonnie Cameron,
“’A dream is a wish your heart makes,’ so said Cinderella, and Dallas Service Forum, an all-volunteer non-profit women’s organization, is dreaming of having our wish fulfilled this holiday season.
“For over 47 years DSF has provided services and financial support to children, families, and the elderly through the greater Dallas area, providing hundreds of thousands of volunteer hours, and has donated more than $1 million in direct grants and non-grants to the worthy non-profit organizations it supports. In 2023-2024 DSF volunteers and community programs touched the lives of over 70,000 children, youth, families, and elderly, providing 8,800 hours of dedicated volunteer service hours and $65,000 in grants and other funding.
“Among the many services and programs provided to our Agency Partners is our DSF Meal Program. With a belief that cooking and preparing a meal for those in need is an act of love, every month hard working volunteer members purchase ingredients, prepare, deliver, and serve over 600 homemade meals to clients of the agencies supported by DSF, providing nourishment, but also demonstrating the DSF commitment of “service from the heart.
“Agencies served by DSF included Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, Hope’s Door New Beginning Center, Juliette Fowler Communities, The Ebby House, Network of Community Ministries and Ronald McDonald House of Dallas. Every week you will find members of DSF cooking teams spread throughout the community, preparing, and serving meals at these non-profit organizations.
“During the holiday season and especially the month of December, our need for funds for our Meal Program increases, as the numbers of those who are in need rises. DSF relies on the generosity of its members for funding our Meal Program, conducting only one major fund raiser each year, and our funds remain limited. We ask that you dig deep in your heart, grant our Wish, and help us cover the cost of our December meal program, $3,000.00, allowing us to bring nourishment to those in need.
- “A $50.00 donation will provide 12 meals
- “A $100.00 donation will provide 24 meals
- “A $200.00 donation will provide 48 meals
“All funds raised will go to our Meal Program. With your kind and generous support this holiday season we can continue to positively impact our community. You may donate at DallasServiceForum.org or by sending a check to our office at 6330 LBJ Freeway, Suite 235, Dallas, Texas 75240.
“As we continue to dream of a wish granted, we also wish you a joyful holiday season and we thank you for becoming a part of our mission.”
