One might say that the horses are off and running as of this afternoon for Equest. Plans were just officially announced at NorthPark’s Etro for the 2025 Blue Ribbon Gala. Co-Chairing the fundraising night will be Kristin and James Hallam along with Honorary Co-Chair Natalie and David Taylor and The Sam And Helga Feldman Foundation.
In revealing the theme of the fundraiser, “Saddle Up for A Night Of Splendor,” Kristin and Natalie described it as a “blend of Southern charm, refined elegance and honky-tonk fun” produced by Steve Kemble at Gilley’s Dallas on Friday, April 25.
Already lined for the night are longtime Equest fan Jody Dean as emcee, music by the Jordan Kahn’s Manhattan Orchestra and an auction chaired by Norma Jean Schaltenbrand.
Another highlight of the gala will be presentation of the 2025 Citation Award to The Web Family including Donna and Tim Weber and their daughter Katherine Weber.
On hand for the announcement were Allison Brodnax, Etro General Manager Melinda Rathke, Equest Women’s Auxiliary Founder Louise Griffeth and her dear friend jewelry designer Joan Hornig, who was hosting a trunk show at the kick-off.
In addition to 10% of Etro and Joan’s jewelry sales benefiting Equest, Kristin has arrange for the collaboration of Miron Crosby owners/founders Sarah Means and Lizzie Means Duplantis and SMU student/influencer Sophie McGuire to create “The Sophie” — a custom-designed women’s boot in shimmering metallic leather adorned with the brand’s signature stars and a playful nod of Southern charm with the word ‘Y’all.” Going for $1,895, they’re available only through the Dallas studio in Highland Park Village. But orders have to be placed by Monday, December 30.
