Don’t even bother going to your mailbox today. After all, it’s Veterans Day. While it’s a day when we honor former U.S. military folks, it’s also a day when mailboxes will be empty due to it being a federal holiday.
But on Tuesday, postal carriers will be back on track delivering all type of envelopes. One of those just might be letters from HHM Health‘s 2025 Healing Hands Luncheon Co-Chairs Anne Besser and Courtney Joyner Gage, who were joined by Host Committee Member Tiffany Divis in addressing the letters this past week at Anne’s townhouse.
If you can’t wait for the letter, here’s the news: The fundraising luncheon will take place on Wednesday, March 26, at the Omni Dallas Hotel featuring U.S. Surgeon General Dr. Renaisa Anthony as the keynote speaker.
Besides her heady credentials that include being a Congressional Top 40 under 40 In Health Care Awardee, National Medical Association’s Top Doctor under 40 and her TEDxTalk: “A recipe For Health Equity In The 21st Century,” Renaisa launched her own non-profit, startup organization and served as an academic physician and leader funded by the National Institutes Of Health (NIH).” She also headed up medical missions across Africa, Central and South Americas.
She knows the need for quality healthcare for underserved families having been born premature to a single mother and growing up in an economically disadvantaged neighborhood in Detroit.
According to Anne and Courtney, Renaisa’s “leadership in advancing equity and improving outcomes for underserved and under-resourced individuals and families” was the perfect fit for HHM Health’s mission “to provide quality healthcare to all its neighbors with love, compassion and respect. The organization’s leaders’ vision is to be the best patient-focused health center by providing personalized, physical, mental and spiritual care for every individual.”
As proof of the HHM Health impact on the community, this past year it’s had “an astounding 54,000 patient visits.”
In the past three years, the annual luncheon has raised more than $720,000 for HHM Health services.
