Santa has just sent word that the MySweetToyDrive series needs to start earlier than usual. In the past it kicked off on Halloween. But according to the North Pole team, the need is greater than ever and they need plenty of time to get gifts ready for Santa’s trek around the globe.
In fact, word has it that the reindeer are going through an intense boot camp program to prepare for the Christmas eve run.
While there are many neighborhood toy drives, the MySweetToyDrive series is featuring articles about North Texas 501 (c) 3 nonprofits’ toy drives until Friday, December 6. Deadline for receiving articles is Thursday, November 28.
If you’re interested in letting folks know that your organization needs help to provide gifts, here are the requirements:
- A first-person write-up by a staff member or volunteer
- The name of the author and their role with the non-profit
- The name of the organization
- What is the toy drive’s goal?
- Is there an Amazon Wish List associated with the toy drive?
- Should the gifts come unwrapped?
- Will donations be accepted? If so, how can people donate, including link?
- How long has your organization been holding toy drives?
- What is the deadline to drop off toys?
- Provide a little information about the kids who will be receiving the gifts.
- The organization logo in JPEG format and/or a photo of the author
- The organization’s website
- A link to the toy drive on your organization’s website
Send the materials to [email protected] with “MySweetToyDrive for [the organization’s name]” (Example: MySweetToyDrive For The Best Kids We Know) in the subject line. That will help your submission to make it past the infamous MySweetCharity filters.
