When the Labor Day weekend came to a close, the 2024 Crystal Charity Ball committee immediately got the final months of 2024 fundraising underway. With a tip of the hat to its longtime partners for the past 50 Ten Best Dressed Fashion Shows, 2024 CCB Chair Cheryl Joyner and Fashion Show Chair Kim Hext decided to have the underwriters’ dinner sponsored by Comerica Bank at Neiman Marcus’ flagship downtown store on Wednesday, September 4.

Before the first guests even arrived, the Ten Best Dressed gals sans one and 2024 Hall of Famer Lisa Cooley were on the spot for the class photo.

Alas, NBC5 anchor Meredith Land was MIA due to her day job requiring her to anchor the 5 and 6 p.m. newscast in the Fort Worth studio. Still, she made it in time to the NM Fine Jewelry department for the announcement of the Ten (Monica Eastin, Meredith, Wendy Messmann, Tracey Kozmetsky, Tracy Lange, Anne McPherson, Kim Quinn, Lisa Rocchio, Sunie Solomon and Katherine Wyker) and Lisa C.

Even though the PA gremlins hamstrung the presentation thanks to a low-battery mic, the more than 100 guests including Evening Chair Mary Clare Finney, Nancy Carter, Clay Cooley, Bela and Chase Cooley, Ciara and Hunt Biggers, Alice and Curt Farmer, Heather Furniss, Betty and Jim Baird, Greg Hext, Sharon Merwin, Lee Bailey, Gail Fischer, Sharon Friedberg, Jennifer Dix, Lori Jones and NM’s top executives (Ryan Ross, Mary McGreevy, Scott Mitchell and Tim Adair) cheered and smiled as the ladies were presented. Then it was a hop on the elevators to the sixth-floor Zodiac Room, with Oscar de la Renta designs on mannequins on tables down the center of the room surrounded by dinner tables for the seated supper.
