For folks who haven’t heard of Chris Parvin, they’ve been missing a businessman who knows how to make a difference with a flair. In legal circles, he founded the Parvin Group two decades ago, ceasing operation four years ago to focus on expanding his service outside of practicing law. In the local hospitality industry, he’s the one behind the White Rhino Coffee shops that have been sprouting in the area like bluebonnets in the spring; in showmanship, his 50th birthday party last year was right out of PT Barnum as he arrived in ringmaster top hat and tailcoat atop an elephant.
But for area non-profits, he’s a difference maker for good, thanks to his White Rhino Coffee Foundation. Just this past Saturday, when the call for cash at the 2024 Cattle Baron’s Ball for cancer research was announced, Chris didn’t hesitate. Nattily dressed in a Gucci brown velvet jacket and complete with a pale-colored stetson, he kicked things off with a $500,000 donation. That announcement was a jaw dropper, even for the Cattle Baron’s veterans.
Now word has arrived that his White Rhino Coffee Foundation will be the presenting sponsor for Dallas CASA’s 2024 Champion of Children Award Dinner at The Fairmont Dallas on Friday, October 18. That level of sponsorship is $100,000.
According to Dallas CASA’s Rosanne Lewis, “Rhino’s mission is to make the world a better place. They are more than a coffee shop. White Rhino is committed to making a tangible difference in the lives of at-risk children and we are excited they believe strongly in the work and mission of Dallas CASA.”
That’s in keeping with what Chris told CanvasRebel this past February when he said, “I’ve long believed that my purpose as a business leader is to give back. That’s why all of these brands share a mission to grow profitably so that we can give back to the Kingdom of God, make the world a better place and enrich our employees’ lives.”
