Despite the North Texas world being focused on today’s North Texas Giving Day, Dallas Junior Leaguers have just announced plans for its 2025 Milestones Luncheon taking place at the Omni Dallas Hotel on Friday, April 11.

Co-Chaired by Lauren Combest and Debbie Oates, the major fundraiser has two Dallas ladies as the luncheon centerpiece.
Serving as the keynote speaker will be Dallas-based author/recipe developer/The Defined Dish creator Alex Snodgrass, who has made the New York Times Bestseller List three times for her “The Defined Dish: Whole30 Endorsed Healthy and Wholesome Weeknight Recipes,” “The Comfortable Kitchen” and “Dinner Tonight.”

It was just two years ago that she kicked off SideDish, a “collection of better-for-you, multi-purpose dressings, designed to make mealtime delicious and easy to share with the ones you love.”
The other highlight of the day will be presentation of the Sustainer of the Year Award to longtime Junior Leaguer and prominent philanthropist Peggy Sewell. Besides holding many roles in the JLD, Peggy served as the honorary ball chair in 2005-2006.
In addition to serving on the Baylor Health Care System Foundation Annual Giving Campaign and SMU Annual Giving Campaign, she is currently co-chairing the Meadows School of the Arts SMU Ignited Campaign.
She has also chaired such fundraisers as the Cattle Baron’s Ball, Crystal Charity Ball Fashion Show And Luncheon, Dallas Museum of Art’s Art Ball and Silver Supper, Leukemia and Lymphoma Society Luncheon, MD Anderson Cancer Center Living Legend Luncheon, Susan G. Komen Foundation Luncheon, The Sweetheart Ball, TACA Silver Cup Award Luncheon, Texas Discovery Gardens Flora Awards Dinner and Vogel Alcove Arts Performance Event.
In addition to receiving a number of awards from SMU, including the Distinguished Alumni Award, she received the Kappa Kappa Gamma Platinum Key, the Texas Discovery Gardens’ Flora Award, the TACA Silver Cup Award and the St. Martin’s Episcopal School of New Orleans Martina deTours Distinguished Alumna Award.
According to JLD President Tandra Allen, “We are excited to have Alex Snodgrass as the featured speaker of our annual Milestones Luncheon in April. As a native Texan, not to mention a bestselling author and entrepreneur,
we are thrilled to have her share her experiences with us. In addition, we are honored to celebrate longtime League volunteer and supporter, Peggy Sewell, as our Sustainer of the Year. There is no one more deserving of this
prestigious award than Peggy, and we look forward to celebrating her.”
With sponsorships starting at $1,000, tables are currently available at $2,500 with individual tickets going on sale in November.
