“The Rich-Tone Chorus is a six-time international champion women’s chorus with a vibrant membership of over 100 passionate, fun-loving women. Specializing in barbershop harmony—a captivating four-part a cappella style deeply rooted in American tradition—we not only love to perform but also serve as ambassadors, enlightening our community about this rich musical heritage.
“But we are more than just an amazing show chorus. For many of our members, it’s a musical sanctuary, a refuge from the stresses of life. It’s a vibrant social hub where friendships blossom amid a shared passion for music. To many, it’s a lifeline—a source of support and camaraderie, where bonds of sisterhood are forged through harmony and love.
“The Rich-Tone Chorus has been a part of Communities Foundation of Texas’ North Texas Giving Day since 2018. This has been an amazing platform to help share our organization. Donations from this event make a direct impact on our members and our community, providing invaluable opportunities for personal growth, learning, and emotional fulfillment through the power of music.
“Funding received through North Texas Giving Day has helped our organization in many ways. It’s enabled us to passionately perform across our community, securing venues and necessary equipment to share the gift of song with our audiences. Additionally, these funds have supported our community outreach efforts, including our partnership with Richardson’s Network of Community Ministries to sing, serve lunches, and offer support to local senior citizens. Moreover, we’ve collaborated with local high schools in memorable performances and offered advanced music education to area singers, and we look forward to nurturing these partnerships in the years ahead.
“We’re deeply passionate about the profound impact our organization has on women, both locally and wherever our performances take us. Whether competing internationally or singing across the United States, our mission is to spread our love for singing and barbershop harmony to new audiences.
“One unforgettable opportunity occurred this past January when Connie Light, our dedicated Team Leader, orchestrated ‘Cruise With the Rich-Tones’ aboard Royal Caribbean’s Voyager of the Seas. This week-long journey brought together members from our chorus with other singing women across the country in a celebration of sisterhood, culminating in a joint onboard performance. The education gained by, and experience shared with, our guest performers was lifechanging, and the audience’s enthusiastic feedback was overwhelming—many experienced our unique sound for the first time and were captivated by it.
“The Rich-Tone Chorus is working towards Sweet Adelines International chorus competition in October 2025 in Columbus, Ohio. Your donations will play a crucial role in our journey—supporting everything from costuming to music selection and invaluable coaching opportunities. It’s through the generosity of our community and donors that we can turn these aspirations into reality. Each performance and competition is an opportunity for us to spread our passion and joy for music with audiences far and wide.
