According to Atmos Energy Public Affairs VP Kelly Biegler,
“I am honored to announce our ongoing partnership with United to Learn as the presenting sponsor of the Learning Launch initiative for the fourth consecutive year. United to Learn’s Learning Launch allows partners like Atmos Energy to strategically partner with our area schools. Investing in our schools and our educators is another way Atmos Energy is Fueling Safe and Thriving Communities and investing in the future of Dallas.
“Public school budgets often fall short, leaving little room for teachers to purchase the tools and supplies they need to enhance learning environments and bring lessons to life. To address this challenge, United to Learn’s Learning Launch initiative provides teacher-requested supplies and engaging experiences that ignite students’ enthusiasm for learning. For the 2024-2025 school year, Learning Launch will support more than 52,000 students and 5,000 educators across 103 Dallas ISD elementary schools.
“Last year, Learning Launch raised more than $327,000. This year, our goal is to raise $350,000. Since its start in 2017, Learning Launch has raised more than $1.1 million, providing necessary tools and resources that align with campus goals.
“I vividly recall visiting one of our supported schools and witnessing the profound impact firsthand. Seeing the outdoor garden equipped with new tools, funded through Learning Launch, was truly inspiring. These resources enhance the educational experience and bring joy and excitement to learning. Such supplies, often not covered by public funding, are vital in helping teachers elevate their classrooms and support student success.
“This year, the funds raised will cover essential supplies like STEM stations, classroom reading areas, phonics kits, math manipulatives, music exploration kits, and more. Campus Liftoff events will energize campuses bringing in experiences such as a DJ playing welcoming vibes, a petting zoo, a special family learning night, or other activities that build belonging and community.
“As part of Learning Launch, there are three ways you can contribute during this back-to-school season:
