According to North Texas Wildlife Center President Rebecca Hamlin,

“Each year, hundreds of north Texas residents encounter the unexpected – a wildlife emergency. Ranging from walking to your car and finding an injured, pink baby squirrel, an opossum attacked by a dog with babies in her pouch, to an entangled North Texas Wildlife Center (NTXWC) steps in.
“North Texas Giving Day is the most significant fundraising event of the year for NTXWC. This annual event provides us with a critical platform to garner financial support necessary to sustain and expand our mission of rescuing, rehabbing, and releasing native Texas wildlife.
“The donations we receive on North Texas Giving Day are not just contributions; they are lifelines for local wildlife. Each dollar directly supports the wildlife in our care, funding everything from emergency medical interventions to daily feeding and habitat maintenance. Imagine a tiny, orphaned fawn taking its first steps after being rescued, or an injured hawk soaring back into the wild after months of rehabilitation. These heartwarming successes are made possible by the generosity of our donors.

“We operate 365 days a year and provide rehabilitative services for all native Texas wildlife ranging from moles, turtles, opossums, raccoons, skunks, songbirds, raptors, fawn, coyotes, bobcats and all native species in between! Our organization doesn’t just provide rehabilitative care, we provide emergency medical care from our vet team, critical care by our shift leads, daily care by our volunteers, enrichment to hone their skills, species-specific dietary needs, and a safe place to grow and prepare for their return to the wild.
“Your support also enables us to engage in vital educational outreach programs, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of local wildlife within our community.
“By participating in North Texas Giving Day, our supporters play a crucial role in preserving the biodiversity of our region and ensuring that future generations can experience the beauty and wonder of North Texas wildlife. Together, we can make a tangible difference and continue our mission of rescuing, rehabilitating, and releasing wildlife in need.”
