Well, gee whiskers! Remember those days a month ago when rain never seemed to stop? Well, it’s stopped. But now North Texans are being haunted by those Cassandra types who claimed that in the days to come, the wet stuff would be missed as a heat wave hotter than a uber-jalapeno would arrive on the scene.
The hot sauce has not just arrived. It’s bristling with even greater pains of sweat to come.
The good news is that The Senior Source‘s Beat The Heat program met its goal of $80,000. The not-so-good news is that there were more needs than initially planned. For that reason, The Senior Source has had to raise its goal to $100K to help seniors and folks in need handle the rising temperatures.
Their hope is to hit their new goal in time for the distribution on Wednesday, July 24.
As of this morning, $92,315 has been donated. If you’ve been outside for the Fourth of July, then you know how brutal the temperatures are. So, why not celebrate the holiday by making a donation here.
