“At the end of summer, Rainbow Days will send 1,000+ K-12 DISD students, who are experiencing homelessness and poverty, back to school with our 33rd Annual Back-to-School Celebration!
“Rainbow Days’ Back-to-School Celebration will provide each child with a brand-new backpack filled with school supplies, uniforms and other needed resources for a fresh start to the new school year. Children receive their supplies at our annual fun, celebratory event filled with games, activities, refreshments, and prizes.
“For homeless and at-risk children, having the proper supplies allows them to actively participate in their educational activities. Receiving a backpack filled with school supplies is a powerful symbol of support that lets each participant know that their community cares about their education and wants them to succeed. By providing school supplies, we can help ensure that homeless and at-risk children have the opportunity to enter the school year with the tools they need to learn and thrive.
“Support would ideally be provided a week before the event by Thursday, July 25. Support can be offered through our Amazon Wishlist, Sponsoring a child, Donating Supplies, Financial Donations, and Volunteering. A variety of school supplies are needed for the event.
