According to Dallas Historical Society Executive Director Karl Chiao,
“The Dallas Historical Society (DHS) is thrilled to announce the 43rd Annual Dallas History Makers Awards for Excellence Luncheon (DHM)! Since 1981, these prestigious awards have honored individuals who have made significant contributions to the quality of life in Dallas. Established by Lindalyn Adams, then-President of DHS, the awards recognize achievements in ten categories including, Arts Leadership, Business, Creative Arts, Education, Health/Sciences, Humanities, Philanthropy, and Volunteer Community Leadership.
“Inspired by the late Dallas author and historian A.C. Greene, the selection process celebrates recipients for their generosity of spirit, civic leadership, and ability to foster community-wide participation. These awards honor those who have devoted substantial time and effort to our community.
“The Jubilee History Maker Award, established in 1991 during Dallas’s 150th anniversary, recognizes contributions that span multiple categories of civic leadership.
“Originally a black-tie dinner, the luncheon now takes place from 11:10 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at The Fairmont. The event features video interviews with the recipients, recognition of former honorees, and concludes with the beloved A.C. Greene Honorary Toast, celebrating both native Texans and those who have chosen to make Dallas their home.
