Anyone who has been on board for the 2024 Paris Olympics didn’t need a passport or to budge from their North Texas comfort zone. All they did was embrace NBC and its Peacock cousin coverage.
In addition to the Texas claims to silver and gold like Asher Hong, Simone Biles and other champs on the platform, the galleries have been filled with all types of well-known celebrities like Nicole Kidman and Keith Urban, Serena Williams, Michael Phelps, Spike Lee, Natalie Portman and Tom Cruise.
But leave it to chiseled Texas homeboy Matthew McConaughey to rise above all others with his way-too-cool “AI Sheriff: The Great Data Heist” commercial for Salesforce and online sporting gold medals along with his beautiful wife Camila McConaughey for their Pantalones tequila taking “home some top marks in their short time of existence, including a Double Gold Sip Award, a Gold L.A. Spirits Award, a Silver L.A. Spirits Award, a Gold San Francisco World Spirits Competition Award, and a Bronze San Francisco World Spirits Competition Award.”
Why, Matthew has even been an inspiration for some Olympic athletes like surfer Griffin Colapinto who admitted that he “fell in love” with Matthew after reading MM’s 2020 memoir “Greenlights.”
Besides their business ventures, the McConaugheys are well-known for their ‘just keep livin Foundation‘ and have just revealed that they’ll be at the Omni Dallas on Friday, September 20, for the New Friends New Life Annual Luncheon.
As part of their “A Conversation with The McConaugheys,” Camila and Matthew “will highlight their work with the foundation, which focuses on empowering high school students to make healthy choices for a better future, and will also include highlights from their careers, family life, and philosophies for living”
According to NFNL CEO Bianca Davis, “The McConaugheys’ work through their ‘just keep livin Foundation’ impacts young lives in a powerful, proactive way and is aligned with the work of New Friends New Life to fortify and support the vulnerable teen girls we serve. Additionally, the ‘just keep livin Foundation’ provides an environment encouraging respect and healthy relationships – an important lesson NFNL also teaches high school boys through our ManKINDness curriculum. We could not be more excited to welcome this charming and beloved duo to Dallas and look forward to a luncheon that will not only be informative and inspiring, but also memorable and fun.”
Heading up the fundraiser are Luncheon Co-Chairs JoJo Fleiss and Lisa Rocchio along with Honorary Co-Chairs Robin and Norm Bagwell.
You can bet your golden dreams that this one will be a swift sell-out, so don’t keep your fingers crossed that individual tickets will become available. Get a group together and sign up for a sponsorship now.
