2024 La Fiesta De Las Seis Banderas Co-Chairs Kay Herring and Courtney Wiles along with Preview Luncheon Co-Chairs Chris Palmer and Rachel Stienke decided to shake things up a bit for the group’s annual luncheon presented by Highland Park Village.
Upon arrival at the Arts District Mansion for the luncheon, the 2024 Duchesses and their escorts mothers and guests were greeted by a magnificent floral display in the center of the lobby, plus a marvelous exhibition along the wall of mannequins in gowns worn at the 2023 black-tie gala by Sydney Chandler, Caroline Wells, Audrey Leigh, Katherine Owen, Chloe Wood, Riley Rieman, Sara Rose Gambrell, Dorothy Griswold, Katherine Massey and Ava Haberer.
In the past one of the luncheon’s highlights has been a display of Barbie-like dolls wearing replicas of the gowns that would be worn by the Duchesses the night of the black-tie gala. But the 2024 co-chairs had decided that the dolls were looking a bit dated and opted for not only 40 mini-mannequins and sketches of the gowns, but also photos of the Duchesses and their escorts on tables lining the ballroom’s reception area.
Another highlight of the day was the announcement that Rachel Steinke and Susan Glassmoyer would co-chair the 2024-2025 La Fiesta.
The year of fundraising and activities will conclude with the Celebracion De La Costa De Espana gala at the Hilton Anatole on Saturday, June 8, when the 40 Duchesses will take their bows.
