While some kids are away at summer camps, there are 600 youngsters who will have a day of fun without leaving Dallas. Thanks to a partnership between the Boys and Girls Clubs of Greater Dallas and the Turtle Creek Park Conservancy, this Discovery Days program will take place take place from Monday, July 8, to Wednesday, July 10.


With the activities running from 9 a.m. to noon, each day 200 campers ages six to 12 will be broken into four groups, resulting in 50 kids at each activity according to the following schedule:
- 9 a.m. — Campers arrive at Arlington Hall
- 9:15 — Welcome, introductions and information with campers being split into four groups and sent to the following perspective areas:
- Area 1: Curriculum learning in the Great Hall
- Area 2: Scavenger Hunt on the Lemmon-Lee Parkway Lawn
- Area 3: Fishing at Turtle Creek Pier and free play at the Roque Courts/Putting Green Area
- Area 4: Cool down with water and snacks in the Formal Garden is available throughout the morning
- 9:30 to 10 a.m. Session One
- 10 to 10:15 a.m. Groups rotate to the next area
- 10:30 to 11 a.m.: Session Tw0
- 11 to 11:15 a.m.: Groups rotate to the next area
- 11:15 to 11:45 a.m.: Session Three
- 11:45 a.m.: Groups make their way to Arlington Hall to begin loading buses.
- Noon: Groups depart
These three days of fun and activities are only possible thanks to support by donations and sponsorships.
