With the memorial service for Mike Wyatt ending at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 25, some headed to Claire and Dwight Emanuelson‘s home in Volk Estate for the reception. One of those was Jennifer Dix in sky-high Chanel stilettos. Despite the pain of the walk to her wheels at the farthest end of the St. Michael and All Angel’s parking lot, Jennifer was comforted by plans to do a girls-weekend in Cabo the next day with daughter Gracie Dix.
Others arrived at Tucker and Rich Enthoven‘s home for the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary Dallas Fashion Show And Luncheon patron party. Co-Chairs Natalie Lorio and Meg Salter were prepared for the guests, who had purchased a table or individual ticket of $500 or more, like 2024-2025 SAWA President Laura Downing and Margot Perot Service Awardees Ramona Jones (2017) and Kathie King (2024) and her husband Randy King.

Right on schedule the program got underway with 2023-2024 Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary President Candace Winslow welcoming the guests and thanking Majors Dawn and Paul McFarland, 2024 Honorary Chair Shelle Sills and the evening’s hosts, co-chairs and sponsor Diamonds Direct.

Following a brief story on how funds provided by the Auxiliary are used, 2024 Fashion Show Chair Shannon Graham thanked Highland Park Village for being the Runway Sponsor. She them told how the Designer Presale would commence the next day. “If you haven’t been, it’s a very fun experience. You never know what treasure you’ll find! Some of our dear friends here tonight are wearing some of the treasure they got at this sales or at the Chic Boutique sale the day of the luncheon. Even if you just come by buy the darling children’s clothes, we would love to have you join us either tomorrow at the Presale or at 9:30 a.m. the morning of the luncheon.”

In closing, Candace again thanked the leadership, adding, “We can do so much for our 19 local offices whose needs are great — how can we enable them to continue to be the hands and feet of Christ to the veterans, the homeless, the battered, the children, the addicted and those facing disasters? We can do so much for them and our community through these Salvation Army Centers — and we are grateful for your partnership to make it happen.”
As guests headed to their cars, they were gifted with Mary Kay sunscreen, a Diamonds Direct jewelry cleaner, a Highland Park Village pen/directory and a J. Rae cookie.
