Every year SMU’s J. Erik Jonsson Ethics Award Luncheon benefiting the Maguire Center for Ethics and Public Responsibility has been sold out. But this year, due to the honorees being philanthropic sweethearts Ashlee and Chris Kleinert, who have been kick-starters for everything from Ruthie’s For Good to the Boulevard Collective, organizers found themselves moving the get-together from the Martha Proctor Mack Grand Ballroom to Amstrong Fieldhouse to handle the overly sold out crowd.
The indoor field was filled with Mustangs, Aggies, Red Raiders, Longhorns, Sooners and all types of collegiate representatives and community leaders. Meantime, the story of the couple’s personal hands-on support and inspiring the next generation was the pinnacle of the day’s event.
