Honestly, when Cyndi Lauper enters a room, the lights just seem to be brighter. She just has that magical aura that other performers only wish they had. But when the petite bundle of talent and energy appears onstage, it’s a bit like a mega Tinker Bell breaking loose with fun that is contagious for all to enjoy.

“Rhapsody’s” Co-Chairs Grace Cook, Sheilon King, Tara Lewis and Whitney Strauss have just revealed that Cyndi will be centerstage for the Turtle Creek Chorale fundraiser on Saturday, June 1, at the Omni Dallas Hotel.

A longtime advocate for social justice, Cyndi has “passionately championed causes with a particular focus on empowering women, supporting individuals living with HIV/AIDS, and advocating for the LGBTQ+ community. Her unwavering dedication led her to co-found True Colors United in 2008, an organization committed to ending homelessness among LGBTQ+ youth, who make up 40% of the youth homelessness population.”
According to Turtle Creek Chorale Executive Director Jeremy Wayne, “We are thrilled to have the privilege of hosting Cyndi Lauper at the fourth annual Rhapsody Gala. Cyndi is loved by so many, including TCC patrons and the LGBTQ+ community, and we are excited to share her talent with our community.”
In addition to “an exclusive private concert by Cyndi with full band and featuring a selection of her greatest hits,” the evening will also include a pre-dinner reception, a seated dinner and a luxury live auction.
Tickets range from $600 to $1,000, with tables going for $6,000 to $10,000 and sponsorships ranging from $15,000 to $30,000.
On the other hand, if you want to have a sedate night at home falling asleep while watching the Retro TV Channel, then never mind.
