Here’s the situation: MySweetCharity was concerned that the 2024 spring fundraising season was looking rather slack.
It really hit home when died-in-the-wool events weren’t appearing on the MSC Calendar.
In reaching out to some of the Calendar listing vets to say their events were MIA, they swore they had provided the info. Seriously, they were way too professional and young to be delusional.
Guess what? They were right.
Thanks to the MSC brain trust who never sleep at Dallas Pro It and Servously, it was discovered that, without warning, “Aol, Gmail and Yahoo have all upped their email security and added the DMARC policy. It’s designed to help reduce spam and phishing.”
So, what the heck is DMARC? A guy who stood you up on New Year’s Eve in 1990?
Actually, DMARC (aka Domain-based Message Authentication, Reporting and Conformance) is a great program to slam unwanted emails from Martian aliens. But it also prevented any submission associated with AOL, Gmail, Yahoo or widely used email addresses from being received.
The problem is now fixed and the calendar is open for business again.
Two suggestions:
- Check the MSC Calendar. If your event is there, rest easy.
- If it’s not, try again by linking here.
