With spring fashions on the forefront, closets are in need to make more room. Or, as the late luxury impresario Stanley Marcus would say, “It’s time to ‘edit’ your wardrobe.”
Surely that wonderful gown of the past shouldn’t waste away in the back of your closet. How great it would be to once again be the showstopper at a big night like a prom.
There’s an opportunity for that dress and/or those accessories to rise to the occasion at a 2024 high school prom where it will be picture-spectacular now and in the years to come.
If you want to let your best dress be the hit of the night (again, like it did for you or your youngsters), consider donating it to Comerica’s Prom Dress Program for Dallas CASA, Boys And Girls Club Of Collin County and Boys and Girls Club Of Greater Dallas.
Originally launched in 2015 for Dallas CASA clients, the Dallas CASA Children’s Council has ramped up the selection process this year.
Co-Chairs Jana Brosin, Anne Killebrew and Megan Martinez have arrange for two special weekends in March when a pop-up prom salon will feature racks of clothing and accessories, fitting rooms, alteration stations and beauty advice.
Interested? Then you’ll need to have the outfits cleaned and dropped off between now and Leap Day (Thursday, February 29) at the following Comerica locations:
- Chapel Hill-Tollway: 2560 Dallas Parkway; Plano
- Cole-Fitzhugh: 3202 North Fitzhugh; Dallas
- Forest-Inwood: 5200 Forest Lane; Dallas
- Lovers Lane-Devonshire: 5647 W. Lovers Lane; Dallas
- NorthPark: 8850 Boedeker Street; Dallas
Over the years, the prom program has resulted in “more than 6,000 items of formal wear” collected and shared.
