Despite predictions that North Texas may not suffer freezing temperatures in the days ahead, the 30-, 40- and 50-degree temperatures will still create a challenge for the elderly.
Atmos Energy is helping by donating funds for energy assistance agencies for customers who need help paying their “natural gas bills, past-due debt, deposits and services charges.”
According to Atmos Energy Manager of Public Affairs Nira McNealy, “The goal of these dollars is to support our neighbors in need. We realize it takes significant resources to support the elderly, people with disabilities, veterans, and families experiencing financial hardship with the funds they need to enjoy reliable and affordable natural gas throughout the year. Partnering with a variety of energy assistance programs allows us the opportunity to provide our communities immediate and easy access to funding.”
That’s why Atmos’ support of The Senior Source will warm the hearts of many.
The Senior Source has received $75,000 from Atmos funds “to help customers stay warm and safe this winter.”
As The Senior Source Elder Financial Safety Center Director Julie Krawczyk said, “When older adults with limited income feel hopeless and run out of financial options, they come to us for help. It’s extremely rewarding to be able to assist them immediately with their needs, thanks to Atmos Energy’s generosity and care for our seniors.”
On hand to receive the check were The Senior Source Elder Financial Safety Center Assistant Director Carl Burlbaw and Senior Financial Coach Shannon Miller.
Those who are on the edge of wondering how to pay their balance may be surprised how the solution is just a call/email away.
