Following in the steps of Dallas Cowboys Dak Prescott and Zeke Elliott, After-School All-Stars North Texas has arranged to have Cowboys linebacker Micah Parsons (aka #11) as the keynote speaker for the 7th Annual Rising Stars Luncheon, taking place at Brook Hollow Golf Club on Wednesday, March 27.
Having totaled more than 40 sacks in his first three seasons in the National Football League, the 24-year-old Cowboy is one of the NFL’s finalists for defensive player of the year.
According to ASAS North Texas Executive Director Justin Hensley, “ASAS is grateful for the opportunity to partner with Micah for our Rising Stars Luncheon as we raise support for the North Texas youth that we are fortunate enough to serve.”
Thanks to funds raised through previous fundraisers, “After-School All-Stars North Texas has guided thousands of high-needs students through the challenges of navigating middle school. The organization’s promise to participating students is to ensure that they have a supportive environment to find their spark, build lasting relationships, and have a safe place to belong.”
Despite the thousands who have participated, the ASAS North Texas team still estimates that “120,000+ students [are] without the quality after-school enrichment their families say they need and more than 30,000 middle school students [are] left alone and unsupervised after the school day ends.”
This event has proven over the years to be a sell-out, attracting guests of all ages and genders.
