Before Santa and his reindeer finished off their yearly world-wide trek delivering gazillion toys for girls and boys of all ages, he admitted that he, Mrs. Claus (aka Gertrude) and the elves were all slated for much-needed rest. It seems that the Clauses’ plans are to just settle back with mugs of cocoa and to catch up on their streaming playlist.
On the other hand, the elves are scheduled to meet up with their Leprechaun cousins at the Maldives’ Cocoa Islands after putting Rudolph and the team out to graze in Alaska’s Seward Peninsula.
But Old Saint Nick did ask that we pass along his thanks for the North Texans who stepped out of their comfort zones to help others. To quote the jolly old elf, “One act of kindness is a gift that comes wrapped in compassion and ripples on in the days and generations to come.”
If you get a moment in the day’s feasting and gift-opening, call on someone who might be in need of a gentle word like, “I just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you today” or a simple question — “How are you?”
And remember that while you’re celebrating, there are hospitals, shelters, first responders and others who are still keeping the lights burning because their jobs take no holidays.
Speaking of wishes, MSC’s “MySweetWishList” series busted past records and has forced an extension of the posts until Sunday, December 31. They were just too good to miss.
From the entire MySweetCharity team (Shauna, Jimmie, Glenn and Jeanne), we wish for you that blessings come your way in the days and year ahead.
Pam says
Merry!!! Merry!!! to all of you…XOXO
