While the YMCA of Dallas’ deal to sell the downtown facility fell through, things are still moving along for the Y.
One of those “moves” is YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas Operations VP Keith Vinson moving over to Junior Achievement of Dallas, succeeding longtime JA President/CEO Jan Murfield.
Overseeing 25 staff members, Keith will “manage the organization’s work readiness, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy programs that currently reach more than 156,000 K-12 students across Dallas and 44 surrounding counties.”
According to JA of Dallas Board of Directors Beth Garvey, “We are pleased to have him running our operation and believe his leadership will help ensure the future success of Junior Achievement in the Dallas area. We are grateful to Jan Murfield, our retiring President, who served in this pivotal role for more than eleven years.”
In accepting his new role, Keith said, “As the new President/CEO of Junior Achievement of Dallas, I will continue to ignite and equip the next generation of leaders, innovators, and entrepreneurs. Together, we will foster a dynamic learning environment where young minds are nurtured, dreams are kindled, and possibilities are limitless. I am committed to cultivating a community where every student discovers their unique talents, gains essential skills, and builds the confidence to excel in the global marketplace. We will engage more volunteers to serve, inspire youth to transform the course of their lives and amplify our philanthropic impact.”
As Beth added, “It is no secret that Keith has been a valuable resource to the Dallas community. Junior Achievement of Dallas is excited to see where he can take our organization.”
