Earlier today, something really big got broken at Truluck’s. It took place as the Cattle Baron’s Ball committee of volunteers gathered for their annual fall luncheon.
As in years past, two traditions were honored.
One was the CBB vets officially welcoming the newest members. This year the newbies, including Dana Arnold, Lindsey Bauer, Ellie Campion, Sharon Lee Clark, Hayden Lawson Duffy, Riley Gratz, Brianna (Bri) Houston, Jennifer Lindsley, Jen Lavelle and Mackenzie Rodgers, joined 2024 CBB Co-Chairs Lora Farris and Marjon Henderson for their class photo.
The other tradition was the revealing of the amount of money resulting from the previous hoedown that will support the American Cancer Society of North Texas’ research programs to fight cancer.
That’s when the breakage took place.
2023 CBB Co-Chairs Andrea Cheek and Isabel Novakov Higginbotham unveiled a record-breaking $5,510,772 resulting from last month’s ball at Southfork with Shania Twain. This is the biggest check that has been handed over since the first CBB in 1974.
