Before the U.S. Postal Service starts getting slammed with holiday greeting cards and deliveries, 2024 Healing Hands Luncheon Co-Chairs Christy Berry and Nancy Scripps gathered Host Committee members at Christy’s home this morning to sign letters about the HHM Health fundraiser.
The first decision of the day was whether to hold the signing in the dining room or in Christy’s incredible greenhouse adjacent to the house, where Christy raises and “heals” orchids. On the side of the Berry home was a fresh crop of lettuce, and Christy invited the ladies to take some of it home. When asked if she was raised by farmers, platinum blonde Christy smiled, “Yes — in Iowa.”
As tempting as the greenhouse was, with its rows of orchids, Christy, Nancy, Julia Sands Cunningham, Sara Fisher, Tiffany Divis and HHM Health Chief Development Officer Jean Buys settled around the dining room table.
Another topic that arose as the pens were put to work was the backstory of the luncheon’s theme. It was due to landing keynote speaker Magician and Enigmatist David Kwong, who is a neighbor of Christy’s during the summer months in Michigan. Over the years they’ve become friends and David managed to arrange his schedule to come to Dallas for the fundraiser on Tuesday, March 19, at the Dallas Arts District Mansion.
With that in mind, this year’s Healing Hands Luncheon theme is “A Touch of Magic.”
Letters about sponsorship opportunities are slated to drop in the mail Monday, but word to the wise — don’t wait around for your mail carrier. Instead check out the opportunities available especially for sponsorships here!
Funds raised from the luncheon will support HHM Health’s “fight against health disparities and provide invaluable access to top-tier healthcare for our vulnerable neighbors throughout Dallas. Just this past year alone, HHM Health recorded over an astounding 57,000 patient visits, a testament to their unwavering commitment to our community.”
