According to 2023 Women of Distinction Luncheon Co-Chairs Peggy Meyer and Carmen Yung,

“The Girl Scouts of Northeast Texas (GSNETX) strives to build girls of courage, confidence, and character through countless girl-led experiences and programming focused on entrepreneurship and essential life skills. Girl Scouts is the only organization that prepares every girl to practice a lifetime of leadership, unleash their full potential and transform their world.
“We are delighted to co-chair the 19th annual Women of Distinction Luncheon (WDL) on Friday, November 3, at the Hilton Anatole. This highly anticipated Luncheon hosted by GSNETX celebrates exceptional individuals of all ages who embody the Girl Scout values through their servant leadership and contributions to the community.

“This year’s honorees include Opal Lee, the ‘Grandmother of Juneteenth,’ who will receive the Lifetime Achievement Award; two Women of Distinction, Carol Pierce Goglia of Catch Up And Read and Bridget Moreno Lopez of Linebarger Goggan Blair & Sampson LLP; and one Man Enough to Be a Girl Scout, Roland Parrish of Parrish Restaurants Ltd.
“High school students Aspen Cunningham, Kaaviya Shenbaharaman and Anushka Sridhar will be recognized as the Mary Anne Cree Young Women of Distinction.
“Please join us as we recognize the accomplishments of this year’s honorees and raise funds to support the more than 19,000 young women and girls across Northeast Texas that GSNETX serves.
