It was a decade ago that Heisman Trophy winner/Pro Football Hall of Famer Tim Brown returned to his childhood school, Mount Auburn STEAM Academy, to help the College Football Playoff Foundation “launch and banner program” in order to “support and uplift teachers by focusing on four major areas: recognition, resources, professional development and recruitment retention.”

This morning Tim returned to Mount Auburn to celebrate the collaboration of the College Football Playoff Foundation and the Cotton Bowl Foundation resulting in the presentation of $200K to four area groups that “inspire, empower and support teachers.”

The four area organizations — Catch Up And Read, City Teaching Alliance, The Educator Collective and United To Learn — received $50K grants each.
The original foundation of the Goodyear Cotton Bowl Classic, the Cotton Bowl Foundation “serves North Texas by supporting programs that improve opportunities for underserved youth with the vision of making an impact on those who play the game, attend the game and support the game.” More than $2.5M in grants and financial support benefiting area non-profits have benefited from the Cotton Bowl Foundation since it was established in 2016.
