It’s official! 2023 Runway Report Chair Venise Stuart and Honorary Chair Cindy Feld have finalized all the plans for the KidneyTexas Inc. fundraiser.
They confirmed tonight at the invitation-only patron party in NorthPark’s St. John salon that the fashion show and luncheon will take place at Brook Hollow Golf Club on Tuesday, September 26, with Jan Strimple coordinating the catwalk production including fashions from Nardos Design, Pockets, Betty Reiter, St. John and Tootsies and the presentation of awards.
This year’s Everson Wall Legacy Award will be presented to former Olympic Gold medalist/Southlake resident Crissy Perham, who donated her kidney to the father of fellow Olympian Missy Franklin in August 2022. She learned of his “dire need” while on social media.
Receiving the Sue Goodnight Service Award will be Charlotte Kimberlin, who in addition to being a close friend of the late Sue Goodnight, “worked for many years alongside each other as volunteers.”
Speaking of awards, KidneyTexas Inc. President Nancy Greenbach “accepted a Southwest Transplant Alliance Foundation 2023 Outlive Yourself Award on behalf of KidneyTexas Inc.” this summer.
According to Southwest Transplant Alliance Foundation President/CEO Brad Adams, “This award is bestowed annually on those who have contributed to the advancement of organ donation in meaningful ways over the past year — who have demonstrated an ability to outlive themselves through our life-saving mission.”
This year’s KidneyTexas beneficiaries include Camp Reynal-National Kidney Foundation, Children’s Medical Center Foundation, Methodist Health System Foundation and Texas Health Resources Foundation.
As of Sunday, March 5, there are 8,269 Texans waiting for a kidney transplant.
