Back in early March, the rains poured down on North Texas. One of the areas that took a real drenching was Dallas’ Salum Restaurant. While the wet stuff resulted in all types of flowers blooming, it was just too much for Salum’s roof, resulting in the restaurant having to shut down for a number of weeks for repairs and renovations.
Luckily owner Abraham Salum revved up to make things right for his clients and crew. With all hands on deck, Abraham and his team were ready to host the 2023 Crystal Charity Ball Midpoint Luncheon on Thursday, May 25.
The refreshed restaurant with its open kitchen and Abraham greeting guests showed no signs of the past repercussions as the gals, including past CCB chairs Debbie Oates (2009), Christie Carter (2016), Claire Emanuelson (2018), Tucker Enthoven (2020), Leslie Diers (2021) and Susan Farris (2022), gathered to learn the status of fundraising for the 2023 CCB beneficiaries (After-School All-Stars, Buckner Children and Family Services, Fair Park First, Family Gateway, Metrocare Services, Salvation Army of North Texas and YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas).
For those committee members who had already headed to vacation spots, Children’s Book Chair Jennifer Dix video-ed the announcements to share with those MIAs.
Then it was time for the announcements of the top producers by 2023 CCB Chair Angie Kadesky and her committee chairs in the following categories:
