Everyone can use a good laugh. In fact, like music, the sound of laughter is the international sound that brings a sense of relief during the worst of times.
So, Deep Ellum’s Dallas Comedy Club is holding a special gathering of laughter — “Stand Up for Hope” — on Saturday, June 17, to benefit Dallas Hope Charities with emcee Stefan Newman and comedians Kim Wadsworth, Kerry Day, Charlotte Parker, Lucia Hardaway and Jamie Zeske.
The common denominator for being part of the night and effort are laughter and appreciation for those in need.
According to Dallas Comedy Club Owner/Executive Director Roșie Caruth, “Some of our favorite people are or were LGBTQ+ youth in North Texas! We love to bring people together for some laughs, so lending our stage to Dallas Hope Charities just made perfect sense.”
Proceeds from the $25 per person event will help support Dallas Hope Charities’ mission to provide “food, shelter and a range of services for LGBTQ+ homeless youth, empowering the community with dignity, stability and hope.”
